Setup Ethernet

Setting up an Ethernet Connection (LAN Connection):

Components to setup a Lan Connection using Broadband Cable, or DSL, or Wireless Connections.

1). Computer with Operating System compatible with 10/100 Ethernet.
2). 10/100 or higher Ethernet Card (PCI, USB, or ISA).
3). Drivers Installion disk for Ethernet Controls.
4). An ISP Provider or Internet Provider.
5). Broadband, or DSL Hub (Modem). I say Hub because Modems are only considered for Dial-up Internet.
6). Up-to-Date Internet Browser,(Internet Explorer/Firefox/Opera/Google Chrome/etc).
7). Proper length of either STP, or UTP Ethernet Cable with proper Ethernet clips.

Ok now on the steps to setup a LAN connection through Ethernet (STP, or UTP Cables).

1). Open up Internet Browser, goto Tools/Internet Options, click on the Connections Tab on top of Display Box for Internet Options.

2). Click on LAN settings another box will appear, put a check in the box to Automatically check for Proxy Servers, Click apply and close out.

3). Back at the top under Connections Tab one will see a Setup button, Click setup, from here on one can choose the steps needed to setup an Ethernet Connection through Broadband, or DSL.

4). Some Internet Providers send disks with the equipment, which will setup ones internet for them.

5). Reboot after setting up Internet, so that all changes will take affect.

If for some reason after rebooting, one clicks internet, and internet is still not connected Troubleshoot the steps of installing, and connection activity. Check Device Manager to make sure your Ethernet Device was installed properly.
